I have a random question...

Do you guys think while you pray (in the devotional sense) and pray while you think? I've been realizing lately that I use those two words almost interchangeably. I can't think about anything of substance without conversing with God about it, nor can I pray for more than ten seconds without giving some serious thought to whatever it is I'm praying about. Like I said, very random, but I just made this discovery about myself and I find it interesting...

  • I hadn't ever thought about it.

  • Sometimes...

Sometimes I find myself in a stream of thought in an intercession set that leads me through the whole meeting back and forth between praying to thinking to praying...

...but maybe a better word would be meditating (or musing), because it is true that the concept of meditation in the Bible is right there alongside prayer to be done day and night. Now that I think about it, I meditate alot while I pray (on Bible verses, etc.)
and pray alot when I meditate...

On the other hand, I think there is a healthy distinction between the two, even though they so closely interface - just like worship and prayer - In union, yet a distinct value in of itself.
